For me, my attraction to tattooing and art started a long, long time ago, when I was growing up in NYC. I always liked to sit around and draw, mostly cartoons. As I grew up, I became very intrigued by tattoos. In the city you're exposed to so many things, but tattoos were the things that caught my attention the most. In 1980, I was lucky enough to meet Bob Roberts while he had a shop in the city. I got my first tattoos from him. I was really into the whole atmosphere at his shop. I kept stopping by, bringing all of my friends to him for work. I was there quite a bit for a year or so. Bob was great about answering my questions about tattooing, and believe me there were a lot of them. Although I never worked with him, I feel I owe it mostly to Bob for sparking my interest and creativity, and eventually applying it in tattooing.
